Australian Parliament House
Located in the nation’s capital, Canberra, Australian Parliament House is the heart of Australia’s democracy.
This architecturally striking building is both a working parliament and a cultural landmark, welcoming you to explore its grand design, rich symbolism, and vibrant political life.
Parliament House was built to show off the Australian landscape and our democratic values. The building features wide, rolling lawns and a famous mosaic in the forecourt, created by Indigenous artist Michael Nelson Jagamara. Inside, you can see an incredible art collection, which includes the massive Great Hall Tapestry by Arthur Boyd.
For a behind-the-scenes look, the Signature Experience of Parliament House takes you into private, official, and ceremonial spaces that are usually off-limits to the public. Led by an expert guide, you’ll explore spaces like the press gallery and inner courtyards, before sitting down to a beautifully presented high tea – an experience typically reserved for visiting dignitaries.
Whether you’re watching Question Time or admiring the architecture, Australian Parliament House invites you to experience Australia’s democracy in action.
