Firescreek Botanical Winery Aboriginal Experiences
Set within Firescreek Botanical Winery in Holgate, the Firescreek Aboriginal Storytelling and Bush Tucker Tour offers a rich blend of culture, nature, and flavour.
Guided by Aboriginal Elder Kevin ‘Gavi’ Duncan, this 1.5-hour experience unfolds in a peaceful garden setting on the Central Coast, just 90 minutes north of Sydney.
Gavi, a proud custodian of the Dunghutti and Darkinjung Nations, shares his deep knowledge of native plants and animals, passed down through generations. As you wander through the winery’s botanical gardens, home to Davidson plums, lemon aspen, riberry and mountain pepper, you’ll learn how these plants have long been used as bush food and medicine by Aboriginal communities.
The tour includes a traditional coolamon display of seasonal bush tucker, along with hands-on interaction with Aboriginal tools and instruments. A powerful didgeridoo performance brings Dreaming stories to life, creating a moment of connection and reflection. And to finish, you’ll enjoy a guided tasting of boutique wines made with botanicals grown right there on the estate.
This experience goes far beyond your typical winery visit, inviting you on a journey into culture, connection, and Country in one of the Central Coast's most beautiful natural settings.
