Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Experience & Tours
Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Tours invites you to explore the deep traditions of the Luritja and Pertame (Southern Arrernte) peoples in Watarrka National Park.
Led by Christine Breaden and Peter Abbott from the Wanmarra Aboriginal Community, this intimate one-hour experience offers a rare and respectful insight into the cultures of Central Australia.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Kings Canyon, the tour welcomes you to connect with Country through hands-on learning. You’ll discover the significance of dot painting, traditional tools and weapons, and the bush tucker and medicinal plants that have sustained Aboriginal communities for tens of thousands of years.
What sets Karrke apart is its hands-on, interactive style. You’re invited to touch, taste, and ask questions as your guides share rich cultural knowledge. Whether learning to use a coolamon or uncovering the stories behind ancient symbols, every experience is rooted in respect and connection.
Karrke Aboriginal Cultural Tours offers a genuine connection to the land and its people, making it much more than just a stop on your journey.
