Mount Pleasant Wines
Nestled in Pokolbin beneath the Brokenback Range, Mount Pleasant offers a refined cellar door experience, with curated tastings that reflect over a century of winemaking excellence.
Founded in 1921 by Maurice O’Shea—widely regarded as the father of modern Australian winemaking—the estate helped redefine Australian wine through a focus on table wines, innovative blending, and the introduction of French oak maturation at a time when fortified styles dominated.
Today, Mount Pleasant crafts elegant, expressive wines from four renowned vineyard sites: Lovedale, Rosehill, Old Hill, and Old Paddock, the latter home to Shiraz vines dating back to 1880.
Celebrated for benchmark Hunter Valley Semillon and Shiraz, the winery continues to produce wines of balance, longevity, and a strong sense of place. Visitors are invited to immerse themselves in the estate, exploring its heritage, vineyards, and guided tasting experiences.
