Founded in 1921 by Maurice O’Shea—widely regarded as the father of modern Australian winemaking—the estate helped redefine Australian wine through a focus on table wines, innovative blending, and the introduction of French oak maturation at a time when fortified styles dominated.

Today, Mount Pleasant crafts elegant, expressive wines from four renowned vineyard sites: Lovedale, Rosehill, Old Hill, and Old Paddock, the latter home to Shiraz vines dating back to 1880.
