Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures Australia
Based in Hervey Bay — the world’s first Whale Heritage Site — Pacific Whale Foundation Eco-Adventures Australia invites you to experience unforgettable marine wildlife adventures along Queensland’s Fraser Coast.
Operating within the Great Sandy Marine Park, this not-for-profit social enterprise is part of the Pacific Whale Foundation, a global leader in ocean conservation and research since 1980.
Hervey Bay is famous for its calm, sheltered waters and incredible close encounters with Humpback Whales during their annual migration. From July to late October, you can join the Ultimate Hervey Bay Whale Watching tour — a three-hour journey led by certified marine naturalists. With underwater hydrophones letting you hear the whales’ songs and expert commentary along the way, each tour is both educational and truly inspiring.
As the only operator in the region with over 35 years of whale research experience, Pacific Whale Foundation scientists have documented more than 6,000 individual Humpback Whales, building one of the largest photo-ID databases in the South Pacific. You’re invited to join in citizen science activities, playing an important role in supporting vital conservation efforts.
