Walkabout Cultural Adventures
Led by Kuku Yalanji man Juan Walker, Walkabout Cultural Adventures offers immersive Aboriginal-guided tours across North Queensland, including Port Douglas, Mossman Gorge, Cooya Beach, and the Daintree Rainforest. With over 20 years of guiding experience, Juan shares his ancestral knowledge and stories with warmth, humour and authenticity.
You can choose from half-day, full-day or private tours, each providing a unique chance to explore Tropical North Queensland’s diverse ecosystems. At Cooya Beach, you’ll stroll through mangroves and tidal flats, learning to identify coastal bush foods and even trying your hand at spear throwing. In the Daintree Rainforest, a guided walk reveals traditional uses of native plants for food and medicine, while Dreamtime stories bring the landscape to life.
These experiences go beyond typical tours. They invite you to walk alongside Traditional Custodians, hear their stories and deepen your understanding of the land and its people. Walkabout Cultural Adventures offers a powerful, personal way to connect with some of the world’s oldest living cultures in some of Australia’s most breathtaking places.
