Waringarri Aboriginal Arts & Tours
In the vibrant town of Kununurra, Waringarri Aboriginal Arts stands as the first fully Indigenous-owned art centre in Western Australia, proudly run by the Miriwoong people.
More than just a gallery, it’s a lively cultural hub where you're warmly welcomed to experience Miriwoong traditions through art, storytelling and music.
Join a 1.5-hour artist-led tour through the gallery, sculpture garden, and working studios, where you’ll meet artists as they paint, carve and craft. These intimate conversations reveal the stories and traditions behind each piece, deepening your appreciation for the cultural significance of the art.
For those eager to explore the landscape, you can enjoy a guided sunset tour through Mirima National Park, often called the “mini Bungle Bungles.” As the sun dips behind the red rock formations, you’ll be immersed in didgeridoo performances and cultural storytelling, creating a truly moving and memorable experience.
Waringarri Aboriginal Arts is a place where culture is lived and shared with everyone who walks through its doors, celebrating the creativity and connection of the Miriwoong people.
